PLC Programming

PLC Programming & Troubleshooting in Sydney

CIC supports factories, contractors and OEMs with PLC programming, modifications, troubleshooting, HMI changes and commissioning across Sydney and NSW.

What PLC programming involves

PLC programming is the logic that runs a machine or process line — the code that reads sensors, drives outputs, sequences a batch, handles interlocks and tells the operator what is happening through the HMI. When that logic needs writing, changing or fixing, CIC works on it directly on Sydney and NSW sites.

Most of our PLC work is practical and incremental: adding a station to an existing line, changing a recipe or sequence, mapping new I/O after a mechanical change, reworking nuisance alarms, or chasing a fault that lives in the code rather than the wiring. We keep changes documented and backed up so the plant is never left depending on one person's memory.

What we cover

  • New PLC programs for machines, panels and process lines
  • Modifications and additions to existing programs
  • HMI changes, screen additions and SCADA tag mapping
  • Fault finding on existing PLC code and I/O
  • Commissioning and SAT support
  • Backups, version control and as-built documentation

PLC and HMI platforms we work with

  • Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC systems commonly found on Australian industrial sites
  • Schneider, Mitsubishi and Omron platforms
  • HMI and operator panels, including screen additions and tag mapping
  • SCADA tags, alarms and data exchange with the PLC
  • Discrete and analog I/O, sensors and field devices tied to the logic
  • Support depends on site access, software availability, system condition and job scope

Who this is for

  • Manufacturing and process plants
  • Food and beverage facilities
  • Packaging and warehousing operations
  • OEM machine builders
  • Industrial electrical contractors needing automation overflow

Typical PLC programming jobs

  • A new machine or line that needs its control logic written and commissioned
  • An existing program that needs a sequence change, extra station or new recipe
  • Fault logic and interlocks that nuisance-trip and need reworking
  • HMI screens that need new pages, tags or clearer operator messages
  • A site with no current program backup that needs as-builts captured

How CIC approaches this work

Multi-platform capability

Work across common PLC platforms including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi and Omron. Capability is subject to project scope and availability.

On-site or remote

Hands-on on-site programming and commissioning, plus remote support where the site network and customer policy allow it.

Practical handover

Code that the next person can read: clear structure, comments, tag names and as-built backups handed over at the end of the job.

Enquire

Discuss your PLC project

Tell us a bit about your site, the equipment and how urgent the work is. Availability for urgent, shift and shutdown work is confirmed case by case.

Urgency

This helps us triage availability; it is not a response-time guarantee.
