Small PLC Systems
SLC 500, MicroLogix and Micro800
CIC’s legacy-to-micro training stream brings together Allen-Bradley SLC 500 and MicroLogix systems with the Micro800 controller family. Choose this stream if you or your team maintain these controllers, or want to develop skills for working with them.
The training progression starts with RSLogix 500 for SLC 500 and MicroLogix, then moves to Connected Components Workbench (CCW) and FactoryTalk Design Workbench (FTDW) for supported Micro800 controllers.
Before you start
Recommended: CIC-SP-101 or equivalent PLC fundamentals.
New to this platform? Start with CIC-SP-101 — Legacy-to-Micro Foundations, or call CIC about your experience.
Maintaining existing machinery and developing applications are separate pathways. Compare the pathways if your responsibilities differ.
Choose your platform first, then the course level that matches your experience and responsibilities. You do not need to complete the Small PLC stream before starting Logix.

What should I bring and how should I prepare?
Discuss laptop requirements, software access, venue details and daily times with CIC before booking. Bring a description of the tasks you want to practise; check permission before sharing any employer's program or equipment information.
Can my employer book me or several team members?
Yes. Individuals and employers can register for the same public course. Choose Individual booking or Company booking on the registration form. CIC reviews course fit and sends the booking invoice or payment link.
What certificate is provided?
The course provides a CIC certificate of completion. This is a practical skills course, not a nationally recognised qualification or a licence to carry out electrical work.
Does submitting a registration confirm my booking?
No. CIC first reviews course fit and sends the booking invoice or payment link. Your place is secured when the required booking deposit is received. Joining a waitlist does not reserve a place.

A 30% booking deposit is required on acceptance. The remaining balance must be paid before the training day.
